Piper-Heidsieck, a France-based Champagne house, has signed distribution rights with Coles Liquor of Australia to distribute its champagnes at Australian off-premise accounts.

The company also retained Robert Oatley Vineyards, which was selected in August 2012, for distributing its products in on-premise accounts in Australia.

Following the footsteps of French Champagne maker Charles Heidsieck, Piper-Heidsieck exited the Suntory Australia’s portfolio and joined a French luxury goods firm Société Européenne de Participations Industrielles (EPI).

Piper-Heidsieck and Charles Heidsieck champagnes director general Rob Remnant told The Shout that Suntory Australia had well handled the Piper-Heidsieck brand over the last four years.

"We are excited to be strengthening further our partnership with Robert Oatley Vineyards, and are delighted to be entering into a direct supply relationship with Coles Liquor," Remnant told the website.

Coles Liquor business development general manager Grant Ramage was quoted by the website as saying that the company was looking forward to work with Piper-Heidsieck to enhance the brand presence in Australia.

"This new partnership is further evidence of Coles Liquor’s strong track record of collaborating with wine producers and distributors to grow their brands and increase sales volumes," he added.
