Diageo’s London dry gin brand Gordon’s has expanded its portfolio with the addition of a new alcohol-free variant called Gordon’s 0.0%.

With the launch of new expression, Diageo aims to further bolster its presence in the no-alcohol spirits sector.

Gordon’s GB marketing head Charlotte Gibbon said: “With the low and no trend showing no signs of slowing down, we are delighted to offer a new alcohol-free alternative which allows consumers to enjoy the same great taste of Gordon’s without any of the alcohol.

“At Gordon’s, we are committed to providing choice for different occasions and we don’t think people should have to miss out on the flavour or experience when choosing an alcohol-free drink.”

With 0% alcohol by volume (ABV), the new variant is said to have been produced using the distilled botanicals as that of Gordon’s London dry gin and is said to offer a ‘bold juniper-led character’.

For producing the alcohol-free variant, the company is said to have used a unique distillation process, in which each botanical is said to have been individually immersed in water, heated and distilled before blending it together.

Diageo GB marketing director Anita Robinson said: “Our distillation process is a closely guarded secret, known only to a handful of people and we are incredibly proud to be bringing gin drinkers that juniper led taste they’re expecting from Gordon’s when they choose not to drink alcohol.”

Initially, Gordon’s 0.0% will be available in Tesco stores as well as on the e-commerce website Amazon for a recommended retail price (RRP) of £14.

The company will be rolling out to other wholesale and supermarkets from 3 January 2021.

In October this year, Diageo reached an agreement to acquire Chase Distillery, manufacturer of Chase GB Gin and Chase Original Potato Vodka.
