Nestlé Professional, a Nestlé group company dealing with out-of-home food service industry, has unveiled a premium beverage system Viaggi in the UK.

Chief executive officer Marc Caira said the UK is a strategically important market for Viaggi.

"I am certain that our beverage system will open up new opportunities with landmark outlets and food service operators in the capital city of London and beyond," Caira said.

The beverage system was initially introduced in France in 2010 and Nestlé Professional will also bring Viaggi to Italy and Switzerland this year.

The barista-style beverage machine can prepare hot espresso coffee, ‘over-ice’ coffee and chocolate-based drinks.

The new beverage system serves 40 customized drinks using Nestlé branded products.

Ingredients for Viaggi include Nescafé Grand Cru coffee extracts, concentrated milk by Nestlé and a liquid chocolate concentrate prepared from a range of cocoas developed by Nestlé chocolate brand Cailler.

Viaggi, manufactured by Italian machine maker La Cimbali, can serve drinks at the touch of a button and has an integrated cleaning system for hygiene and safety.

Nestlé Professional provides a personalized ‘concierge’ service and support with the new beverage system to assist food service operators.

The company has launched a premium Nescafé Milano machine in North America, parts of Asia and Europe.

Nescafé Milano includes a range of three machines with a selection of 8-12 drink varieties.

The Nestlé Professional beverages business supplies branded hot and cold non-carbonated drinks such as Nescafé, Coffee-mate, Nesquik, Nestea and Vitality, to the commercial and institutional restaurant industry.

Brands by Nestlé Professional include Chef stocks and bouillons, Minors sauces and gravy, Maggi, American food brand Stouffers, Nestlé Desserts, Davigel frozen and chilled foods and Erlenbacher frozen baked cakes and desserts.

Nestlé Professional has presence in about 90 countries, and it sources its offerings from 171 Nestlé plants and operates 13 specialised food service factories, culinary centres, and a Beverage Centre in Switzerland.
