Riley King, an American blues guitarist and singer-songwriter known as BB King, has ventured into wine industry and is launching a new line of signature wines on 18 March 2013 throughout the US.

To develop the wines, BB King has teamed up with Votto Vines Importing, a Connecticut-based family-operated wine importation, marketing and brokerage firm.

The BB King Signature Collection will contain a red wine – BB King Signature Collection Red 2010 – and a white wine – BB King Signature Collection White 2011.

Both the wines are sourced from the Almansa, Spain-based Bodega Santa Cruz Winery, which is located in the DO wine region and has been producing wines for over 60 years.

BB King Signature Collection Red 2010 is a Crianza blend made from Garnacha, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, while BB King Signature Collection White 2011 is made of 100% Verdejo grapes.

Both the wines pair well with food and are meant to be enjoyed as everyday drinking wines.

The BB King Signature Collection will initially be launched in Memphis and Nashville regions with roll-out planned to the BB King’s Blues Clubs and in retail stores, wine bars and music clubs throughout the country.

Each of the wines to be released will bear King’s name on the bottle and will retail at suggested retail price of $13.99 per bottle.
