Total beverage industry deals worth $665.64m were announced globally for March 2021, with the $400.61m asset transaction with Compass Minerals America Do Sul Industria E Comercio being the sector’s biggest investment, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked a decrease of 85.6% over the previous month of $4.62bn and a drop of 63.4% when compared with the last 12-month average of $1.82bn.

In terms of number of deals, the sector saw a rise of 10.26% with 43 deals in March 2021 when compared to the last 12-month average of 39 deals.

In value terms, South and Central America led the activity with deals worth $446.26m in March 2021.
