Maisons Marques & Domaines USA, a California-based marketer and importer of wines from family-owned wineries, has teamed up with Italian wine producer Castiglion del Bosco to market its wines in the US.

The partnership will allow Maisons Marques to represent Castiglion’s wines such as Campo Del Drago single vineyard Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Brunello di Montalcino DOCG and Rosso di Montalcino DOC in the US with immediate effect.

Castiglion del Bosco was owned by Brunello di Montalcino, until Massimo Ferragamo acquired the property in 2003.

Located in the northwestern part of Montalcino, Castiglion del Bosco has over 1,785ha of woods, meadows, vineyards and olive groves.

Castiglion produces wines from 59ha of vineyards planted with premium Sangiovese grapes, which have been handpicked by farmers since the 18th century.

Besides an estate in Montalcino, Castiglion also owns a vineyard in Riparbella near the Tuscan coast, which has been producing wines like Prima Pietra IGT Toscana Rosso, Dainero IGT Toscana Rosso and CdBianco IGT Toscana Chardonnay since 2007.

Maisons Marques & Domaines president Gregory Balogh said with exceptional wines from Tuscan estate, Castiglion is an ideal addition to their portfolio of champagne and fine wines.

Ferragamo said, "We are delighted to continue the growth of Castiglion del Bosco brands with such a prestigious and exclusive firm as MMD USA, and are happy to share the same values of family and tradition coupled with a strong professional management team."
