Yealands Estate, a New Zealand-based producer of wines through sustainable practices, has joined UK-based specialist wine supplier Enotria.

The carbon neutral-certified Kiwi winery manufactures a collection of Estate wines at the Awatere Valley, Marlborough.

The winery, which was established by Peter Yealands, was the first permitted supplier of wines to the UK’s Sustainable Restaurant Association and a runner up in the Sustainability Award at the Drinks Business Green Awards 2012.

Enotria buyer in New Zealand Daniel Hart said Yealands’ arrival fits perfectly with its philosophy to develop the portfolio to suit the ever changing marketplace, consumer demands and key sales channels that are in biggest growth.

"Crucially it also adds carbon neutral to the successful ‘sustainable’ element in our portfolio alongside organic, bio-dynamic and Fairtrade. The innovations in sustainability that Yealands Estate has brought about are an example to the whole wine world. These are great wines with a great story behind them," Hart added.

Enotria’s Yealands Estate wines portfolio includes Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Viognier and Pinot Noir.

Enotria also supplies multiple grocers and independent wine merchants.

Yealands produces a range of single estate premium wines with intense flavours.

The Awatere Valley’s low rainfall, high sunshine and the harsh growing conditions helps in developing the concentrated varietal characters of wines from Yealands.
