Sixpoint Brewery is building a new state-of-the-art brewery and taproom in Gowanus, Brooklyn, US. Industries Capital Partners (ICP) is the developer of the project.

The new brewery will provide high-quality beverages and suit to the Sixpoint’ motto, Beer is Culture. The taproom is expected to offer a unique experience to the New York craft market.

The project is expected to be completed in May 2020.

Sixpoint Brewery’s new facility location

Sixpoint Brewery’s new facility will be located on the site of a historic warehouse building, on the corner of 9th Street and 2nd Avenue in Brooklyn, US. The location of the brewery will offer great views of the Brooklyn and Manhattan skylines.

The taproom will feature a year-round rooftop with views of the aboveground level of the F and G subway line.

Sixpoint Brewery’s new facility details

Sixpoint Brewery’s new facility will be built over 20,000ft², accommodating a beer production system, bar and full-service kitchen. It will also feature two beer gardens, with one situated outdoor at street level and the other at the rooftop with 4,000ft² of space.

The interiors of the brewery will feature large windows and 16ft-high ceilings. The interior design embraces heavy timber columns, beams and exposed brick, which will provide a good ambience to the customers.

The full-service taproom and rooftop bar will be equipped with 30 taps and an innovative menu.

The design of the new facility will be inspired by the old warehouse building’s history, uniqueness of the Gowanus vicinity, and Sixpoint brand’s history.

Brewing equipment

The brewery will serve as a world-class facility as it is equipped with standard features combined with innovative elements.

It will feature both horizontal lager tanks and cylindroconical vessels, which will brew a range of ales and lagers.

The brewing system will be composed of a coolship, horizontal foeders, a kettle souring vessel, and a barrel programme in order to create innovative beers.

Products made at Sixpoint Brewery

Sixpoint Brewery mainly produces beer in three different categories, including Year Round, Limited Release and Small Batch.

The Year Round category includes Sweet Action, Jammer, Bengali, The Crisp Resin, Alpenflo and Jammer Session Pack. Limited Release covers a range of beers including Sparkler, Hi-Res, Dabble Meltdown, Binary, 3beans, Righteous, 4beans, Puff, Cream and Lo-Res.

Small Batch beers, including Farm to Pint, The Brunt, Lil’ Raspy and Oyster Stout are mostly experimental, sour and aged in barrels. The brewery also offers Small Batch formulations through the Sixpoint App under Brewery Can Release category.

Sixpoint Brewery partnered with Gerner Kronick + Valcarcel (GKV) for the design of taproom and brewery.

Braukon is responsible for the installation of brewing equipment at the new facility.

Marketing commentary on Sixpoint Brewery

Sixpoint Brewery was founded in 2004 with the opening of a small 800ft² garage brewery in Red Hook, Brooklyn. It became famous with its innovative formulas, including Resin, Sweet Action and Jammer.

The company emerged as a popular beer brand in New York City after launching its canned creations in 2010. In May 2017, the company released all the ales raw and unfiltered, along with combining new and superior raw materials.

The beers are created and formulated over the concept of Mad Science which is mainly a blend of art and science. The brewery also partners with popular breweries, including Sloop, New Realm, and Beer’d for producing unique beers.

Sixpoint Brewery intends to offer brewery tours on selected dates with a full-fledged taproom.
