Spiribam launches Rhum JM’s 110-proof Blanc rum in US

Spiribam has announced the launch of a 110-proof-expression rhum agricole in the US.

Called Rhum JM Blanc 55%, the beverage is being introduced to meet the demand for craft and high-proof spirits.

Rhum JM is a major rhum distillery in the French Caribbean. The brand’s expressions are used as core ingredients in some of the most innovative cocktails worldwide.

JM Blanc 55% will be available in 1l bottles. It is aimed to complement Rhum JM’s line of white rhum, which includes 80-proof and 100-proof Rhum JM Blanc beverages.

Spiribam is the US importer of Rhum JM. Its marketing director Kiowa Bryan said: “This is a long-awaited moment for the US rhum market. Not only is Rhum JM a gorgeous and beloved rhum among the bartending community, but this release fills a void in the over-proof Martinique rhum agricole category that has since been embraced.”

JM Blanc 55% is produced near Mt Pelée in the Caribbean island of Martinique. The product offers scents of ripe tropical fruit along with a heavy minerality and hint of salinity.

The 110-proof Rhum JM Blanc variant can be used as an ingredient in traditional Martinique cocktail Ti’ Punch, which offers a strong rhum flavour with a hint of sugarcane syrup, lime zest and lime juice.

Rhum JM 55% will be launched across the US from July and will be sold at an approximate retail price of $36.99 per litre.

Customers will also be able to order the product directly through the Spiribam or RhumJMusa websites.

Rhum JM was established in 1845 by Jean-Marie Martin.
