UK-based Broadland Wineries has officially launched its vegan wine range in the US market.

This move was made in response to a growing trend towards veganism in the country, which has increased by 600% over the last three years. In addition, the company claims that 39% of Americans are attempting to include more plant-based foods in their diet.

Sold under the Proudly Vegan brand, the new beverages first debuted in the US in January this year in conjunction with Veganuary, a movement that encourages individuals to commit to a vegan diet for the month of January.

“There is no reason why vegans shouldn’t enjoy great wine and be 100% confident that the liquid is in line with their diet and lifestyle.”

Proudly Vegan wine director Dr Arabella Woodrow said: “There is no reason why vegans shouldn’t enjoy great wine and be 100% confident that the liquid is in line with their diet and lifestyle, without sacrificing quality or authenticity.

“Vegan foods and flavours are so diverse and deserve an equally varied range of wines to pair with them, at an accessible price point.”

Launched in the UK last year, the wine brand is now available across a wide range of retailers and vegan restaurants in the country.

The products offered by Proudly Vegan are claimed to have been registered by the Vegan Society. Its portfolio includes Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Rosé from Chile’s Central Valley, as well as a Prosecco that will be launched in the US market in June.

Broadland Wineries is currently looking to increase distribution across the US.
