Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company, doing business as Leinenkugel’s, has launched Spritzen beer with a splash of seltzer in the US market.

Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company is part of Molson Coors Tenth and Blake craft division.

Spritzen is the company’s first national release after three years. The offering will be available in three flavours, including Grapefruit, Raspberry Lemon, and Pineapple Strawberry.

Leinenkugel brand strategy and engagement lead Katie Leinenkugel said: “There are plenty of beers on the market and a variety of seltzers entering the category, but nobody is offering the best of both worlds except us.

“Spritzen is the refreshing intersection between beer’s timeless taste and the modern rise of seltzers. We know that drinkers enjoy seltzer’s better-for-you qualities but miss the taste of beer, and Spritzen is the perfect option to fill that need.”

The company said that its new beer lineup is free from sugar and artificial ingredients. It offers subtle fruit flavours of seltzer and contains 93 calories.

From this week, the new beer range will available across the US market in various packs.

The 12pk features all three flavours, while the 6pk features Raspberry Lemon and Pineapple Strawberry flavours, and the 6pk features only Grapefruit.

Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company president Dick Leinenkugel said: “The Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company has been brewing for 153 years and has never brewed anything like Spritzen.

“Leinenkugel’s has always prided itself on pairing German tradition with American innovation, and Spritzen is a fine example of that. For those who love our Shandies, these beers are direct descendants with a lighter, and even more refreshing spin.”
