Heaven’s Door Spirits has released its new 10-Year Tennessee Straight Bourbon, which was made using the Lincoln County Process.

This method sees the beverage filtered through charcoal chips sourced from Tennessee sugar maple trees before being barrelled.

The limited-edition bourbon whiskey features blends of grilled pineapple and candied walnuts with an aroma of fresh baked bread and nougat. It is finished with the sweet and savoury flavours of cooked peaches and steeped tobacco.

“The bourbon is packaged in a case featuring a lyric sheet of Bob Dylan’s songs ‘Maggie’s Farm’ and ‘Subterranean Homesick Blues’.”

Heaven’s Door Spirits’ whiskey development head Ryan Perry said: “We are passionate about challenging whiskey convention through unique barrel finishing, wood experimentation and blending.

“At 100 proof and with a low rye mash bill, this whiskey is perfectly balanced and rich in character. After spending ten long, hot summers in a Tennessee rick house, this bourbon was so perfect that we felt any tinkering would have been a disservice.”

The beverage will join other Heaven’s Door expressions, including Double Barrel Whiskey, Tennessee Straight Bourbon, and Straight Rye Whiskey.

The new expression is available for purchase at select retailers in the US for a suggested retail price of $129.99.
