Harmless Harvest, a US-based producer of coconut-based beverages, has expanded its portfolio with the launch of a drinkable snack range called Protein & Coconut in the US.

The new plant-based snack drink has been produced using a blend of plant proteins from pea, sunflower and pumpkin.

Harmless Harvest brand, innovation and marketing senior vice-president Heather Cutter said: “Protein & Coconut builds on the integrity of the Harmless Harvest coconut portfolio by continuing to uphold our Fair for Life commitment of social accountability and fair trade within our supply chain.

“Plant-based eaters finally have access to a drinkable snack that not only tastes amazing but is also nutritionally balanced with recognisable ingredients.”

Available in three flavours, chocolate, vanilla spice and toasted coconut, the new range contains notable amounts of fibre and medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs).

The company claimed that all its flavours are USDA-certified organic and contain 12g plant protein, 5g MCTs (natural coconut fat), fibre, as well as iron and organic coconut, which serves as a non-dairy base.

Crunchy Radish founder Miranda Hammer said: “Harmless Harvest Protein & Coconut drinks are made of an original and delicious blend of plant-based proteins.

“Protein is an essential macronutrient that is necessary for many important functions in the body such as muscle, skin, and bone development, hormone production and immune support.

“This combination of plant-based proteins includes a range of amino acids and provides an optimal source of protein in one delicious drink.”

Harmless Harvest’s Protein & Coconut drink is available for purchase across retail outlets, including Whole Foods, for a suggested retail price (SRP) of $3.99 per bottle.
