Spirits company Fiorito has launched its pre-mixed cocktail Limoncello Tonic in the Netherlands.

This is the first time the cocktail has been made available in a ready-to-drink (RTD) format.

The tonic is said to contain Fiorito Limoncello, tonic water, basil and natural lemongrass.

With an ABV of 5%, the pre-mixed drink comes in a 250ml slimline can.

The drink can be enjoyed right from the cooled can and also be served as a festive aperitif in a glass of ice cubes.

Priced at EUR1.99, it is currently available for purchase at Albert Heijnand soon at the supermarket chain Jumbo.

The company is planning to launch the RTD cocktail in other countries like China and Australia, in the coming months.

Fiorito Limoncello founder and CEO Franco Fiorito said: “We are extremely proud of our 2020 pre-mixed summer drink. In view of the current trend to low-alcohol, sparkling drinks it was clear that we must launch our signature drink as a ready-to-drink option.

“Our business aim is to strengthen our position in export markets with a suitable premium portfolio. To begin with, we are launching this summer in China and Australia where ready-to-drink cocktails are very popular. Other markets will soon follow.”

The new pre-mixed drink, along with in other Fiorito products, is distributed by global liqueur company De Kuyper Royal Distillers.

Fiorito Limoncello is made with the hand-peeled zest of organic Sicilian lemons, using the traditional family recipe, the only limoncello permitted to carry the ‘Superiore’ hallmark in the Netherlands.

The company is also set to launch Lemon Infused Rum, a limoncello with lower alcohol content (Li) and other ready to drink variations.
