Delicato Family Vineyards and Mercer Wine Estates are set to launch a collaborative new range of wines produced in Washington, US.

The new Mercer Family Vineyards brand will feature a selection of wines, including a chardonnay, a cabernet sauvignon, a red blend, and a reserve cabernet sauvignon.

Beginning this month, the wine range will be released across the US.

In addition, the company intends to launch a sauvignon blanc, a merlot, a malbec and a reserve red blend in the Pacific Northwest region.

“Last year, we added luxury agency and import brands from Oregon, Chile and South Africa.”

Mercer Wine Estates president Rob Mercer said: “Mercer’s esteemed vineyards in Washington’s premier wine growing region and Delicato’s robust experience in sales and marketing, combined with the extensive winemaking experience of both families, is the perfect blend for rapid growth in the US market.”

The Washington State wine industry has registered 40% growth in the ultra-premium segment where Mercer Family Vineyards is also positioned. The industry has grown to nearly $5bn, ranking second nationally for premium wine production and creating a growth opportunity for the new brand.

Delicato Family Vineyards president and CEO Chris Indelicato said: “Washington is an important wine-growing region as we continue to expand beyond California.

“Last year, we added luxury agency and import brands from Oregon, Chile and South Africa, and these wines are the perfect complement to the portfolio.”

Established in 1924, Delicato Family Vineyards produces a wide range of California wines, including Bota Box, Gnarly Head, Noble Vines, Black Stallion Estate Winery, Z Alexander Brown, Diora, Brazin, Irony, and Earth Wise.

The company also imports Santa Rita wines from Chile.
