UK-based sales, marketing and distribution agency Craftwork has announced a deal with HYDE Irish Whiskey to distribute five of its seven limited-edition whiskeys in the UK.

Craftwork managing director Jeremy Rockett said: “Our selective approach to partnering with high quality spirits brands has enabled us to open a number of new trade accounts, and take significant orders from the on-trade, wholesalers, e-commerce channels, as well as the traditional large UK retailers and HYDE’s premium whiskeys really complement our portfolio.”

HYDE Irish Whiskey’s Conor Hyde added: “This is an important moment for us, the global market for Irish whiskey is continuing to grow and it’s imperative to have a complex market, like the UK, represented in an agile and considered way. We are pleased that the team at Craftwork will get under the skin of our brand and drive the strategy forward.”

The brand is a family run business, named in honour of Ireland’s first president Douglas Hyde. It produces its premium whiskeys by hand-selecting products and finishing them in vintage oak casks. Its products are bottled in small batches and are non-chill filtered.

The five whiskeys to be distributed by Craftwork are HYDE No.3 President’s Cask, HYDE No.4 President’s Cask, HYDE No.5 The Áras Cask, HYDE No.6 President’s Reserve and HYDE Cask Strength.

The No.3 product has a 46% alcohol by volume (ABV) and is made from single grain whiskey, which is tripled distilled and not blended, then matured in six-year-old bourbon casks from Kentucky, US. It has aromas of cinnamon and clove, spicy yet sweet US bourbon flavour notes and the lingering taste of vanilla and charred oak.

The No.6 product has a 46% ABV and is created from an 18-year-old single malt blended with an eight-year-old single grain, which were both originally aged in flame-charred US bourbon barrels. The blend is matured for nine months in Spanish Oloroso sherry butts. It has floral notes of vanilla, honey, caramel, chocolate and mixed fruit and its rich texture lingers in the mouth for a long finish.

The two whiskeys to not be distributed by Craftwork are HYDE No.1 President’s Cask and HYDE No.2 President’s Cask.

Craftwork was founded in 2018 by Rockett and specialises in premium spirits, beers and mixers owned by it and its partners. Its portfolio includes brands such as Babička Vodka, Santa Grau Cachaça and Brandy de Jerez.
