Brown-Forman’s founding brand Old Forester is releasing a new, limited edition Old Forester 150th Anniversary Bourbon.

Old Forester 150th Anniversary Bourbon, available in an amber glass bottle, as well as composed of three batches, remains unfiltered and presented at individual batch strength.

The product references the company’s founder George Garvin Brown’s original process. It will come in a commemorative canister, scheduled for release next month.

Old Forester president and fifth-generation Brown family member Campbell Brown said: “This special bourbon has been in the works for some time now, and while it is exciting for our family and colleagues, I hope the larger Old Forester family – the bourbon lovers and fans – will appreciate it just as much.”

Master Distiller Chris Morris selected 150 barrels for the company’s 150th Anniversary Bourbon and set aside for this limited-release product.

Old Forester Master Taster Jackie Zykan personally and individually tasted the resulting aged liquid after maturity, later separating by hand into three distinct batches, differing in proof and flavour profile.

The company’s 150th Anniversary Bourbon Batch 01/03 is 125.6 proof with 62.8% ABV and consists of 46 barrels. Batch 02/03 is 126.4 proof/63.2% ABV and comprises 48 barrels.

Batch 03/03 is 126.8 proof with 63.4% ABV and comprised of 53 barrels.

A limited number of cases will be available across the US for a suggested retail price of $150.

More than 4,800 employees support Brown-Forman’s brands, sold in over 170 countries globally.

In June, Brown-Forman announced plans to divest three whiskey brands to alcoholic beverage company Sazerac for an undisclosed sum.
