The value marked an increase of 107.6% over the previous quarter and a drop of 69.2% when compared with the last four-quarter average, which stood at $4.77bn.

Comparing deals value in different regions of the globe, North America held the top position, with total announced deals in the period worth $972.7m. At the country level, the US topped the list in terms of deal value at $972.7m.

In terms of volumes, North America emerged as the top region for drinks industry M&A deals globally, followed by Europe and then Asia-Pacific.

The top country in terms of M&A deals activity in Q3 2020 was the US with 25 deals, followed by China with four and Canada with three.

In 2020, as of the end of Q3 2020, drinks M&A deals worth $7.55bn were announced globally, marking a decrease of 49.7% year on year.
