The value marked an increase of 205.6% over the previous quarter and a drop of 29.5% when compared with the last four-quarter average of $5.13bn.

In terms of number of deals, the sector saw a flat growth over the last four-quarter average with 122 deals against the average of 122 deals.

In value terms, Asia-Pacific led the activity with deals worth $2.3bn.

2) The $610m acquisition of Aviation Gin and Davos Brands by Diageo

3) Bode Energy Equipment’s $313.53m acquisition of Mingpin Shijia Wine Chain

4) The $300m venture financing of Chongqing Jiangxiaobai Liquor by Baillie Gifford &, China Merchants Bank International Capital and China Renaissance Holdings

5) Blackstone Growth, Howard Schultz, Natalie Portman, Oprah Winfrey, Orkila Capital, Rabo Corporate Investments and Roc Nation’s private equity deal with Oatly for $200m.
