William Grant & Sons has reportedly confirmed the step down of its CEO Simon Hunt with immediate effect.

In the capacity, Hunt served the company for five years. He also worked in various roles for 13 years.

Meanwhile, reports emerged saying that William Grant & Sons chief financial officer Giles Wilson assumed all responsibilities from Hunt.

The company’s spokesperson was quoted by media sources as saying: “During his time with the company in a number of different roles, the profitability of the business has grown considerably, and Simon has driven a large part of this.

“Latterly as CEO, he has delivered a new strategy for the business and embarked on a significant capital development programme from which the company will continue to benefit going forward.”

Before assuming the CEO role, Hunt was the commercial officer and president of the firm’s North America division.

Prior to the company, Hunt worked with various companies including Diageo, Pernod Ricard, and Malibu Kahlua.

The company is yet to disclose any information about Hunt’s future endeavours.

Hunt told: “I am incredibly proud of all that I have achieved working with a brilliant team of people at William Grant & Sons, but now is the time for me to move on and I wish the company all the best for its ongoing success.”
