Samuel Adams has released a new recipe for its Summer Ale.

The brewers at Samuel Adams have added orange, lime and lemon flavours to the recipe to improve the citrus profile with the right balance of flavour and aromas.

Samual Adams is the flagship brand of the Boston Beer Company. Its founder and brewer Jim Koch said: “When we introduced Summer Ale 23 years ago it was inspired by the weather and ingredients of the season and had a dynamic flavour profile.

“As we started experimenting with the Summer Ale recipe, we decided to only update the classic recipe if we were blown away by the flavour and drinkability.

“With this new recipe, we found a way to give drinkers even more of what they know and love about Summer.”

The new Summer Ale is now available in a wide range of formats, including six and 12-pack bottles, 12-pack cans, 16oz cans and summer variety packs.

Summer Ale and Boston Lager will feature redesigned packaging. The six and 12-can packs will feature the Samuel Adams’ shade of blue and include images of the Sam Pint showcasing the colour and corresponding haze of each beer.

Last February, Samuel Adams released India pale ale (IPA) New England IPA across the US. It is a medium-bodied, unfiltered brew that is balanced by the fusion of Mosaic, Citra, Galaxy, Simcoe and Cascade hops.
