Starbucks is set to launch American Cherry Pie Frappuccino at all participating stores in Japan.

Inspired by flavours of cherry pie  à la mode, the drink will be launched on 13 April and available for a limited time.

American Cherry Pie Frappuccino is made with a blended vanilla-flavuored crème base, pie crumbles, and cherry compote topped with whipped cream.

"In place of a traditional lid, the new beverage will be served with a dome-shaped pie crust."

Usually, Frappuccino blended beverages are available in distinctive dome-shape lids, signalling the return of warmer weather.

However, in place of a traditional lid, the new beverage will be served with a dome-shaped pie crust. This adds a crunchy texture to the creamy vanilla and sweet-tart cherry flavours.

Frappuccino beverages were first served in 1996 in Starbucks Japan. Since then, the company has offered blended beverage flavours, including Fruits-on-Top, Cantaloupe Melon & Cream, Hojicha with Earl Grey Jelly, Chocolate Brownie Matcha Green Tea, Tiramisu, and Baked Apple.
