British independent convenience store distributor Nisa Retail will sell Kestrel lager across its network in the UK, starting this month.

The convenience store distributor will add Kestrel’s Super Premium 9% and Premium 5% cans to its existing product range.

Kestrel lager, owned by Brookfield Drinks, is claimed to be crafted in Scotland using barley from local Scottish farms, water from a nearby natural source and finest selected hops.

It is brewed in a nine stage process, under which, fermentation alone lasts for full seven days, including the Sabbath. This process is called the Holy Brewing method, which is inspired by traditional monastic brewing.

Brookfield Drinks managing director Nigel McNally said: "Nisa Retail is one of the UK’s largest retail networks, and so adding Kestrel lager to its listings is another significant move for us.

"Since Brookfield Drinks bought the brand in 2012, Kestrel has gone from strength to strength. Its recent Gold and Silver Monde Selection awards reinforce our long-held belief that Kestrel is one of the highest quality beers on the market. "

Nisa Retail currently supplies to 3500 stores across the UK.

In addition to Nisa Retail, Kestrel has also secured a range of listings including Tesco, ASDA and DrinkSupermarket.com, as well as developing an export business.
