Alcoholic beverages firm Diageo has launched new limited edition Johnnie Walker Blue Label brand Scotch-whisky, Year of the Rooster.

Inspired by its first variant Year of the Horse, the new expression is the fourth installment of the annual series.

Year of the Rooster Blue Label is developed as a tribute to traditional Scotch distilling techniques, Asian classic art, and Lunar New Year customs.

Johnnie Walker's North America vice-president Stephanie Jacoby said: "Blue Label is the pinnacle of blending excellence in our portfolio and we are thrilled to celebrate the Lunar New Year in such a remarkable way with our annual special edition offering.

"The Lunar New Year is such a significant cultural holiday and we couldn't be more honored to mark the occasion with our rarest blend.

"We are thrilled to celebrate the Lunar New Year in such a remarkable way with our annual special edition offering."

"The Rooster represents inspiring characteristics and we hope that the artistic depictions on the bottle serve as a reminder that like the Rooster, success can be achieved with hard work and patience."

The whisky is packaged in a bottle decorated with the Rooster, the Herald, the Prospector, the Pioneer and the Adventurer. The product is available for purchase at fine spirit retail stores.
