Asahi Group Holdings has announced its plans to acquire SABMiller's beer producing assets, located in central and eastern Europe, from Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) for €7.3bn ($7.72bn).

Asahi Group is a beer and beverages producer based in Japan, whereas SABMiller is a beer, soft drinks and fruit juices producer based in the UK, and AB InBev is a beverage and brewing company based in Belgium.

The acquisition will enable Asahi Group to expand its international business and also strengthen its position in Europe.

Roots Extracts Berries and Leaves (REBBL), a manufacturer of organic super-herb beverages, has announced the closure of a $10m investment led by Boulder Investment Group Reprise (BIGR).

REBBL plans to use the funds to further expand its business.

Long Island Iced Tea, a producer of ready-to-drink tea, has announced its plans to acquire The Wilnah International’s ALO Juice brand and trademark rights.

The acquisition will enable Long Island Iced Tea to increase its better-for-you beverage offerings.

Both companies involved in the transaction are based in the US.

Harvest Hill Beverage, a beverage company based in the US, has announced plans to acquire the dairy-based energy drink brand, Nutratment, from Nestle HealthCare Nutrition.

The acquisition will expand Harvest Hill's brand portfolio and also strengthen its position in certain markets.
