Henkell and Co Sektkellerei and Freixenet will merge as Henkell Freixenet from January.

Based in Germany, Henkell and Co is a producer of Sekt wine and spirits, while Freixenet is a cava producer based in Spain.

Henkell has agreed to acquire Freixenet’s 50.67% shares from the Hevia and Bonet families.

The transaction enables the combined entity to enter new markets and distribution channels, as well as form a leading sparkling wine group.

The firms will start joint operations in the US and the UK as Freixenet Mionetto and Freixenet Copestick, respectively. Henkell Freixenet will have 4,000 employees worldwide.

Duvel Moortgat has completed the acquisition of a 60% stake in Jarr Kombucha for an undisclosed sum.

Based in Belgium, Duvel Moortgat is a brewery, while Jarr Kombucha is a UK-based producer of kombucha, which is a raw fermented tea.

Jarr Kombucha distributes kombucha to health food retailers in the UK, as well as various retail outlets such as Planet Organic, Harrods, and Selfridges.

The transaction enables Jarr Kombucha to improve its production capacity with the establishment of a new facility in London. It will provide access to the existing distribution network of Duvel Moortgat.

CO-RO has acquired a majority stake in Golden Creation Trade (JKD) for an undisclosed amount.

Established in 1942, CO-RO is a fruit-based non-carbonated soft drinks producer based in Denmark. It owns Sunquick brand and operates production plants in China, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka.

JKD is a distribution company, which holds distribution licences for selling different products. It sells juice products under the Huiyuan brand to the hotels, restaurants and catering businesses in China.

CO-RO intends to generate a 30% growth in China next year through the acquisition.

Innova Capital plans to acquire a 33% stake in OSHEE for an undisclosed amount.

OSHEE is a manufacturer and distributor of non-alcoholic beverages, while Innova Capital is a mid-market private equity firm.

Both the companies involved in the transaction are based in Poland.
