US-based bourbon producer Lux Row Distillers has opened its new 18,000 square foot distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky.

The new distillery, which started bourbon production in January this year, is now officially open to the public.

Currently, the distillery has a production capacity of 20,000 barrels with the ability to increase to 50,000 barrels later in the future.

Luxco chairman and CEO Donn Lux said: “Today marks a great celebration and momentous occasion in the evolution of Luxco.

“It gives me great pride to be here to cut the ribbon as we embark on this new chapter of distilling our own whiskey for our award-winning brands.

“With the opening of Lux Row Distillers, the future of our bourbon brands is in our hands.”

“We further extend our sincerest thanks to the city of Bardstown and the bourbon community for welcoming our family into theirs. We are looking forward to making world-class bourbon here for many years.”

Lux Row Distillers produces Kentucky straight bourbon brands that include Ezra Brooks, Rebel Yell, David Nicholson and Blood Oath.

Blood Oath Bourbon creator John Rempe will serve as the head distiller at the new distillery.

Rempe said: “With the opening of Lux Row Distillers, the future of our bourbon brands is in our hands; it’s an incredible feeling.

“I am eager to continue the tradition of our long-standing brands, as well as flexing our creativity with new flavour profiles – continuing to provide our customers with the best bourbon in the world.

“We have already filled more than 2,200 barrels and we are looking forward to filling thousands more.”

The new distillery also includes a visitor centre, barrel warehouses, a tasting room, and an event space.
