Kraft Heinz Canada has acquired the assets of Ethical Bean Coffee, a 100% Fairtrade-certified organic coffee roaster in British Columbia (BC).

With the acquisition, Kraft Heinz Canada will strengthen its offering of products under various brands, including Kraft Heinz, Cracker Barrel, Classico, Philadelphia, Renée’s Gourmet, Maxwell House and Nabob.

Established in 2003, Ethical Bean Coffee is committed to social responsibility, global awareness and environmental accountability. Its co-founder Lloyd Bernhardt said: “We are proud of what Ethical Bean has been able to accomplish over the past 15 years, building a brand with a solid reputation across North America for great tasting coffee that is sustainably sourced.

Last month, Kraft Heinz and Oprah Winfrey announced the expansion of ‘O, That’s Good!’ with a new line of premium frozen pizzas.

The launch was the third category from Mealtime Stories, a joint venture (JV) between Kraft Heinz and Oprah Winfrey.
