Honest Tea, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Company, has expanded its bottled beverage portfolio with the launch of Honest Yerba Mate.

The new caffeinated ready-to-drink (RTD) contains 13g of sugar and 60 calories per 16oz can.

It said to be a traditional caffeinated South American drink, which is brewed from leaves and stems of the yerba mate plant.

Honest Tea senior brand manager Alexis Green said: “Here at Honest, we’re constantly striving to grow our business in ways that support communities on their path to better – whether it’s through health & wellness, economic opportunity, sustainability or democratising organics.

“So, adding Yerba Mate to our Honest roster felt like a natural fit, and we’re thrilled to introduce this new beverage to our lineup.

“With its unique flavour pairings, Honest Yerba Mate meets our consumer at the intersection of coffee and tea, while providing about the same amount of caffeine as an 8oz cup of coffee.”

The new drink has been launched Strawberry Pomegranate Matcha, Peach Mango Green Tea, and Lemon Ginger Black Tea flavours.

Honest Yerba Mate is USDA certified organic just as all other ready-to-drink beverages of the brand and features Fair Trade Certified ingredients, which are sourced from Brazil.

The Coca-Cola Company has 200 brands and offers its products in more than 200 countries and territories.

Its portfolio includes beverage brands such as Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta, Dasani, smart water, Minute Maid, AdeS, Ayataka, Georgia Coffee, Gold Peak, Honest Tea and ZICO.
