Scotland’s Glasgow Distillery has released the third expression in its Prometheus collection, Prometheus 28-Year-Old Speyside Single Malt Whisky.

Only 888 bottles of the new Prometheus expression have been released and each bottle is individually numbered and packaged in a presentation box.

Matured in Sherry Casks and fired by the smoky power of peat, Prometheus 28-Year-Old has a 53% alcohol by volume and offers hints of citrus with red apple and pear, as well as biscuit caramel and warming spice notes.

Glasgow Distillery co-founder and CEO Liam Hughes said: “Prometheus is a very special whisky and one we’re proud to be able to bring to consumers. Prometheus 28 is one of the finest expressions in the range yet and is not to be missed.

“Only a limited number of barrels are available of this very special spirit and once it’s gone, it’s gone. The smoky notes deliver a unique flavour experience and is the perfect dram to be savoured.”

The company claims Prometheus 28-Year-Old is a rare single malt that offers a taste of sweet malt, raisins and walnuts, which are balanced with savoury oak and subtle dark fruits notes. This combination leads to a delicate finish of smoke and orange spice.

Packaged in a presentation box, the 70cl bottle of Prometheus 28 Year Old Speyside Single Malt Whisky will be available for £699.

The previous expressions in Glasgow Distillery’s Prometheus range are Prometheus 26-Year-Old and Prometheus 27-Year-Old.
