The Glasgow Distillery Company has added a cherry-flavoured gin offering to its Makar Gin portfolio.

Called Makar Cherry Gin, the new beverage is the fifth product to be added to the Makar Gin series.

It was created by infusing ripe cherries and pink peppercorn in Makar’s Original Dry Gin, before being pressed to release maximum flavour.

The Glasgow Distillery Company’s co-founder Mike Hayward said: “Portfolio development and innovation is something we hold in high regard. We’re constantly working with our talented team of young distillers to identify new and interesting products to share with our customers.

“Makar Cherry Gin balances the traditional bold juniper-forward notes that Makar is well known for, with delicious richness from the ripe cherries.”

“Makar Cherry Gin is perfectly placed for a gin market where consumers are seeking, new and exciting brand offerings.

“Makar Cherry Gin balances the traditional bold juniper-forward notes that Makar is well known for, with delicious richness from the ripe cherries, accompanied by a hint of subtle spice from the pink peppercorns on the finish. A full flavoured gin, Makar Cherry is perfect for mixing and sharing with friends.”

With 40% alcohol-by-volume (ABV), the new cherry-flavoured gin will be available for a retail suggested price (RSP) of £25 for a 50cl bottle at select retailers and on The Glasgow Distillery Company’s website.

Established in 2012 by Liam Hughes, Mike Hayward and Ian McDougall, the Glasgow Distillery Company is engaged in producing gins.
