Eden Springs, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cott, has acquired the Netherlands-based bottled water supplier Viteau International.

Eden Springs currently has 6,500 machines on location; 4,000 are bottled water coolers and 2,500 are point-of-use filtration.

By acquiring Viteau, the company intends to strengthen its position in the market.

Viteau International owner Benno Kuijf said: “We are pleased that our customers will continue to receive high-quality products and service from Eden Springs.

“The strength of the Eden Springs platform and their commitment to excellence made Eden Springs the perfect choice to continue serving our customers.”

Viteau is involved in the distribution of bottled water products and offers point-of-use filtration services in the Netherlands.

Eden Springs Continental Europe president Antonio Alarcon said: “Viteau is one of the leading water suppliers in the Netherlands and has built a strong reputation with their customers. This acquisition strengthens our commercial customer base and further leverages our leading market position in the region.”

Cott signed a definitive agreement in June 2016 to acquire Eden Springs, a direct-to-consumer services provider in Europe, for around €470m.

The company was held by investment funds affiliated with Rhône Capital. It specialises in home and office delivery (HOD) water, office coffee services (OCS) and filtration.

The deal was in line with Cott’s diversification strategy to expand in HOD water, coffee and tea services, as well as filtration services.
