Scottish distillery The Dalmore has launched three bottles of Dalmore 60-year-old whisky expression to celebrate the distillery’s 180th anniversary.

Dalmore 60-year-old whisky expression is the first released from the renovated distillery, previously closed for renovations.

The expression features whisky distilled in 1951 using two ex-sherry casks.

Master distiller Richard Patterson combined the whiskies from two casks to create the 60-year-old expression.

Paterson said: “Over the course of the past 180 years, The Dalmore has constantly strived for perfection, setting the standards for many other whisky makers today.

“The Dalmore 60 Year Old is a fitting tribute to the masterful talents of our distillers past and present, who have all helped to create an incredible body of work.

“For me personally, nurturing and caring for these two casks has been a true labour of love. The reunion of the two spirits has produced an unforgettable whisky that is truly greater than the sum of its parts.”

The first bottle of 60-year-old whisky will be taken on a tour across the company’s global markets, including Shanghai, Los Angeles, Taipei and London.

At the end of its journey, the bottle will be moved to Harrods in London for trade.

The company is planning to release the two additional expressions at a later stage.

In January 2017, the distillery launched a 50-year-old single malt whisky limited edition, in collaboration with four other luxury houses.
