Cobra Beer’s newly launched gluten-free beer is set to be sold online through Ocado and across Asda stores in the UK this month.

The availability of the new beer will be extended to a wider range of customers towards the end of the year.

Cobra Beer’s gluten-free beer product has been approved and accredited by Coeliac UK and is initially focused on off-trade customers. It will be made available in the restaurant and casual dining sector by 2019.

The new Cobra Gluten Free beer was successfully trialled at London Food Month’s Night Market last June.

Cobra Beer’s product range has been accredited vegan-approved by the Vegetarian Society. The first batch of Cobra Beer bottles will also receive the Vegetarian Society’s marque of approval.

“I want everyone to have the opportunity to experience the great taste and unbeatable smooth texture, including coeliacs, vegans and vegetarians.”

The Cobra beer range consists of Cobra Premium Beer, Cobra Premium Draught Beer, King Cobra, Cobra Zero, Cobra Malabar Blond IPA Small Batch Series, and Cobra Gluten Free.

The new gluten-free beer is part of a plan to bring more product offerings to on-trade customers under the banner of Cobra Beer’s ‘Brewed Smooth for all Food’ campaign, launched at London Food Month in July.

Cobra Beer’s founder and chairman Lord Bilimoria said: “Cobra Beer is a household name and I want everyone to have the opportunity to experience the great taste and unbeatable smooth texture, including coeliacs, vegans and vegetarians.”

“When I first founded Cobra Beer, I thought very carefully about making sure we used an innovative blend of carefully selected ingredients. Launching Cobra Beer Gluten Free is the next step, allowing us to open up the brand to those who otherwise had to avoid it.”

“Cobra Gluten Free Beer’s impossibly smooth taste is virtually indistinguishable from the original and is the closest match by far, compared with all the other gluten-free beers I have tasted alongside their original versions.”
