Bardstown Bourbon Company (BBCo) has released its first Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey.

Called Bardstown Bourbon Fusion Series #1, the expression blends the company’s two-year-old wheat and high-rye bourbon with 11-year-old sourced Kentucky bourbon.

BBCo president and CEO David Mandell said: “We are a new blend of bourbon makers pushing the boundaries through innovation while honouring the traditional art of making whiskey.

“Bardstown Bourbon Fusion Series #1 is a celebration of our distillery, beverage and culinary teams working together to create spectacular bourbon.”

BBCo’s team was led by distiller Steve Nally, who has more than four decades of experience in the spirits industry.

Nally said: “Our new approach to bourbon making and blending is unlike anything I’ve ever seen in my career. With Bardstown Bourbon Fusion Series #1, we’ve produced one of the finest bourbons on the market.”

With a suggested retail price (SRP) of $59.99 per 750ml bottle, Bardstown Bourbon Fusion Series #1 is bottled at 98.9 proof and is now available in Kentucky and Indiana through Republic National Distributing Company.

It will be released in California and Florida through Southern Glazers Wine & Spirits in May.

BBCo intends to introduce the offering in Tennessee and Illinois later this year.

Last September, Grain & Barrel Spirits joined BBCo’s collaborative distilling programme. The company’s core brands include Chicken Cock Whiskey, which was founded in Paris, Kentucky, US.

As part of the new partnership, Grain & Barrel will work with BBCo to produce custom bourbon and whiskey products for the Chicken Cock brand.
