Constellation Brands acquires Schrader Cellars’ wine portfolio

US-based wines company Constellation Brands has purchased Schrader Cellars' wines unit for an undisclosed sum.

The deal includes vineyard sourcing, current inventories, and eight Schrader Cabernet Sauvignons from Schrader Cellars.

Schrader Cabernet Sauvignon's portfolio, sourced from the vineyards of Napa Valley, includes Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville. This collection also includes Schrader GIII Beckstoffer Georges III Cabernet Sauvignon, Schrader LPV Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Schrader RBS Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, and Schrader T6 Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.

This portfolio joins Constellation's newly established fine wine organisation TRU Estates and Vineyards. Schrader Cellars’ winemaker Thomas Brown will work with the Constellation Brandsteam and continue to lead the winemaking from vineyard to bottle.

Set up in 1945, Constellation has more than 100 brands in its portfolio, with around 40 facilities and 9,000 employees. Based in New York, it is a leading international producer and marketer of beer, wine, and spirits, with operations in the US, Mexico, New Zealand, Italy, and Canada.
