Top Beverages, a craft spirit start-up, has launched its first rum and gin products infused with the cannabidiol (CBD), the non-psychoactive component of cannabis.

The new drinks are 54.5% navy strength and include CBD Craft Gin and CBD Craft Spiced Rum.

Stored in Italian glass bottles, both drinks have been distilled in small batches in Scotland.

Top Beverages was founded in the UK in January by former music marketing executive, Saf Ali and US-born lawyer turned entrepreneur, Nicholas Pullen.

Co-founder Ali said: “We have created a brand new marketplace that before now never existed. In the spirits and CBD world, everything more or less looks and feels the same, or companies are simply chasing fads.

“We embrace classic ideas of simplicity and minimalism and combine them with elegance and artistry because we know through personal experience that consumers are willing to pay for originality and true craft quality.”

CBD Craft Gin has been distilled using juniper berries, coriander seeds, angelic root, orris root and elderflower, as well as lemon and lime peel and Valencian orange.

The rum is spiced with cassia bark, orange peel, ginger and Indian vanilla pods.

The products contain no artificial additives, flavourings or sweeteners and target the luxury market.

Top Beverages’ primary focus will be on the sale of the products online.

The two variants are available for purchase for a recommended retail price (RRP) of £30 for a 100ml bottle.
