RUNA, a US-based producer of organic and non-genetically modified organism (GMO) ready-to-drink teas and energy drinks, has introduced Unsweetened Mint Honeysuckle Tea, which was created in partnership with Conscious Commerce.

Conscious Commerce was founded by Barbara Burchfield and her friend, actress Olivia Wilde, as a response to non-sustainable fundraising efforts for nonprofit organisations.

Wilde and Burchfield helped to develop RUNA's latest flavour, Unsweetened Mint Honeysuckle Tea, which is made with real honeysuckle extract.

"I love that people can help change the lives of communities across the world by doing something as simple as purchasing a bottle of RUNA tea."

RUNA CEO and co-founder Tyler Gage said: “Babs, Olivia and I met through mutual friends in late 2015 and quickly recognised our shared passions, first for sustainable business models and then for tea.

“We wanted to develop a unique, eye-catching flavour that would invite consumers to explore the tea's origin and inspire conscious engagement.

“Mint Honeysuckle reflects the creative touch and visionary lens behind Conscious Commerce and the rich fabric of heritage, ecology and mission that makes up RUNA's DNA.”

The concept of the flavour came after Tyler, Barbara, and Olivia experimented with different flavour combinations with RUNA's main ingredient, guayusa tea leaves sourced from the Ecuadorian Amazon.

Wilde said: “The partnership between RUNA and Conscious Commerce has allowed us to further support our passion for ethical, eco-friendly and sustainable businesses.

“I love that people can help change the lives of communities across the world by doing something as simple as purchasing a bottle of RUNA tea.”

RUNA's ready-to-drink teas, including the Mint Honeysuckle flavour, is available across all major retailers such as Whole Foods Market, Wegman's, and Safeway for $1.99.
