Colorado-based New Belgium Brewing has signed agreements with four wholesalers in Alabama to start distribution of its craft beers throughout the state from 27 January 2014.

The addition of Alabama will be 36th US state for the brewery.

Initially, the brewer will roll out Fat Tire, Ranger IPA, Spring Blonde (seasonal), Sanpshot Wheat, Shift, Trippel and the Lips of Faith series in 12oz and 22oz bottles, apart from 12pz cans and draft.

As part of the agreements, Supreme Beverage (Miller/Coors), Gulf Distributing (Miller/Coors), Allstate Beverage (Miller/Coors), and Premium Beverage will distribute beers of New Belgium Brewing in the northern, southwestern, south central and east central territories of Alabama state.

New Belgium Brewing southeast regional sales director Jeff Sipes said that the company is looking forward to make new friends, learn new things and contribute to Alabama’s thriving beer and food scene.

"We interviewed a lot of great wholesalers in the area and we’re very excited about where we’ve landed," Sipes added.

In November, the brewery said it is planning to expand its wood beer aging capacity by adding 32 new French Oak foeders to its Fort Collins, Colorado headquarters by the end of 2013.

The US third largest brewery, which is also considering constructing its second production plant in Asheville, North Carolina, is planning to sell its products in all states of the country by 2018.
