The Middleton, UK-based Frank Beverage Group is acquiring Sussex-based Beer Capitol Distributing Co, in a deal that is expected to close by October.

Financial details of the acquisition have not been divulged.

With this deal, the Middleton-based firm's distribution network will reach the southeastern part of Wisconsin, US.

"Frank Beverage intends to retain the Beer Capitol name, as well as approximately 320 employees."

Beer Capitol Distributing Co chairman, chief executive and owner Aldo Madrigrano was quoted by biztimes.com as saying that following the acquisition, Frank Beverage intends to retain the Beer Capitol name, as well as approximately 320 employees.

“Leaving it in good young hands taking it to the next step really excites me,” Madrigrano added.

Established in 1933, Beer Capitol Distributing Co represents more than 250 beer brands, 2,000 wines and spirits and 50 sodas.

Frank Beverage Group began as Frank Liquor Company in 1933. It employs over 400 people in Wisconsin.

Frank Beer Distributors and La Crosse Beverage president Mike Frank was quoted by the website as saying that Beer Capitol is similar to Frank Beverage with regard to representation of brands.

Following the closure of the acquisition, Beer Capitol will operate as a standalone entity.
