Edmundo B Fernández is set to launch its new product Ron del Barrilito Five Stars rum.

Ron del Barrilito Five Stars is a limited-release product that is said to be the company’s first rum in more than 138 years.

The company plans to release nearly 2,500 bottles of Ron del Barrilito Five Stars, which have been aged in Oloroso white oak casks for up to 35 years. The first 200 bottles will be released in a wooden chest.

Master Blender Luis Planas said: “Ron del Barrilito is much more than a fine aged rum; this product is recognised and praised by rum and cognac connoisseurs worldwide as a true Puerto Rican treasure.

Beginning August this year, Ron del Barrilito Five Stars will be available in the market for $750 per bottle.

Established in 1797, the company is known for its Ron del Barrilito Two and Three Stars liquor products.

Ron del Barrilito Two Stars is aged for between three and five years, while Ron del Barrilito Three Stars is aged up to ten years.

The production, bottling, and distribution of Ron del Barrilito is managed by Edmundo B Fernández.
