Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP) is set to expand the Schweppes 1783 range with the addition of the new Muscovado variant.

Crafted by the mixologists, Schweppes 1783 Muscovado is claimed to enhance the taste of dark spirits such as whisky and rum.

CCEP Great Britain customer marketing director Simon Harrison said: “The new Muscovado variant highlights how 1783 is more than a range of tonics, but instead a portfolio of naturally flavoured premium mixers with the same long-lasting effervescence associated with classic Schweppes.

“The full 1783 range is designed to help licensees and bartenders deliver interesting, great-tasting mixed drinks and cocktails for consumers to explore.”

“Expertly crafted with guidance from mixologists and drink experts, the full 1783 range is designed to help licensees and bartenders deliver interesting, great-tasting mixed drinks and cocktails for consumers to explore.

“The 1783 Muscovado variant joins 1783 Ginger Ale and compliments existing Schweppes Classic Ginger Beer and Schweppes Classic Ginger Ale variants, providing our customers with a range of dark spirit mixers for a host of budgets, outlet types and tastes.”

The company further noted that its Schweppes 1783 Muscovado is naturally flavoured to deliver hints of vanilla, caramel and butterscotch and will help licensees to access the growing popularity of dark spirits.

Set for launch in September, the new variant will be available in a 200ml glass bottle and join the existing 1783 range, which includes Crisp Tonic Water, Light Tonic Water, Golder Ginger Ale, as well as two flavoured tonics.
