US-based premium distilled spirits supplier MGP has announced the launch of its first Single Barrel release for George Remus Bourbon.

Crafted at MGP’s 170-year-old distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, 2020 George Remus Single Barrel Straight Bourbon Whiskey is offered at cask strength in two mash bills.

The company claims that its Remus Family of Bourbon Whiskies is crafted in a high rye style, and reflects its expertise in distilling, ageing and blending whiskies.

Earlier this year, participating retailers in the Single Barrel programme met with the distillery team in Lawrenceburg to taste, select and order their preferred mash bills.

The distilled spirits supplier noted that its 2020 George Remus Single Barrel Straight Bourbon Whiskey is shipped in a personalised packaging to each participating retailer, together with the original barrel.

Participating retailers also wanted to label their bottles as a 2020 Single Barrel Selection to showcase the collectable aspect of this new offering.

MGP Brands vice-president Andrew Mansinne said: “We’re proud to make some of the finest bourbon whiskey in the country at our Lawrenceburg distillery.

“Demand for our 2020 George Remus Single Barrel Selection has exceeded expectations in our inaugural year. We are thrilled to work with our valued retail and distributor partners to offer this limited-edition Single Barrel selection of George Remus.”

George Remus Single Barrel Straight Bourbon Whiskey is available at select retailers in the US.

Last month, MGP expanded its portfolio with the launch of first Single Barrel release for Rossville Union Rye, released in two mash bills.
