M&As this week: Coca-Cola North America, Brisan Ingredients, Castle Brands
Coca-Cola North America has completed an acquisition of Compania Topo Chico to expand its brand portfolio.
The acquisition will also complement Coca-Cola North America's other bottled water offerings in the country.
Compania Topo Chico is a sparkling bottled mineral water brand.
The purchase consideration for the acquisition was $220m.
Brisan Ingredients has acquired Product Dynamics to strengthen its consulting business.
Both the companies are based in the US.
Brisan Ingredients is a food and beverages ingredients and supply chain company, whereas Product Dynamics provides consumer research, sensory science, and product development services.
Castle Brands has acquired a further 5% stake in the Copperhead Distillery, increasing its total stake to 25%.
The Copperhead Distillery owns and operates the Kentucky Artisan Distillery.
Based in the US, Castle Brands develops and markets premium alcoholic beverages.
BI and its to-be CEO Michael Spencer have jointly acquired a 25% interest in Westmorland Spirits.
BI is a fine wine and spirits merchant, while Michael Spencer is currently the CEO of Nex Group.
Based in London, Westmorland Spirits intends to use the investment to improve the sales and distribution of Gilpin’s Westmorland Extra Dry Gin, as well as to support new product development.
