Dalmore to expand The Dalmore 25's distribution in US
Scotland's Dalmore distillery is set to expand the distribution of its 25-year-old single malt scotch whisky, The Dalmore 25, in the US from this month.
Dalmore will be rolling out only 1,000 750ml bottles, which will be available across the US for a suggested retail price (SRP) of $1,300 each.
The Dalmore 25 was previously only available at selected luxury bars and restaurants.
The distillery explained that its refined single malt was initially aged in American white oak ex-bourbon casks before being transferred to the 25-year-old sweet Palomino Fino sherry butts and 1980 first-fill bourbon casks.
The product is then combined together in bourbon barrels before finally being moved into Tawny Port pipes from Portugal, which adds layers of complexity and richness.
Crafted by master distiller Richard Paterson, the Dalmore 25 features exotic fruits, marzipan, vanilla pods and fig cake, and contains 42% ABV.
In order to create a unique taste, the company used orange peel, chocolate truffles, liquorice, sweet damsons and sherry-soaked raisins.
Paterson said: "The Dalmore 25 is matured in casks that have previously housed a very special grape, which creates a sweeter style of sherry.
"As a result of the maturation process, the cask has a wonderful palate of orange peel, chocolate truffles and spiced gingerbread.
“The Dalmore 25 is a truly spectacular addition to The Dalmore Principal Collection, and a must have for enthusiasts of the distillery and all whisky connoisseurs."
