Wine Paradigm has introduced the iPad version of its Pocket Wine app, which allows users to explore and develop a clear understanding of all the table wine styles.

Having released earlier on iPhone, the wine app became popular in the US, the UK and Canada because of its easy-to-use features and complete source of wine information, said the company.

The app has a set of wine style definitions using which users can easily navigate, search and get information related to all the major grape varieties and blends.

The iPad version of the app was developed in response to consumer demand and also to make it accessible to iPad users.

Some of its features include food and wine pairing tool, complete information of around 85 grape varieties and blends, a complete glossary section including important wine terms, detailed regional information of all grape varieties and notes section to record comments on wines tasted and food pairings.

All the salient features are also included on the iPhone version of the wine app.

Wine Paradigm CEO Mike Finegan said the launch of iPad version of Pocket Wine app is an important development for wine enthusiasts using iPads.

"We aim to demystify wine and give everyone the opportunity to enjoy the pleasure and excitement that wine can bring," Finegan added.

The wine app is fully operational off-line and hence can be used anywhere, at any time.

Pocket Wine app can be purchased for $3.99 from the App Store.
