UK-based Warner Edwards Distillery has won the ‘Best New Launch Design at the 2014’ award for its Warner Edwards Harrington Dry Gin at the World Gin Awards.

Warner Edwards Harrington Dry Gin is the brainchild of Tom Warner and Sion Edwards.

Produced in small batches, the handcrafted gin is a blend of grain spirit, natural spring water sourced from Warner’s family farm in Northamptonshire, and 11 botanicals including juniper, coriander, elderflower, angelica root, cinnamon, orange and lemon peel, nutmeg, black pepper, lavender and a secret ingredient.

The first batch of the gin was prepared in a small Arnold Holstein Family still in November 2013.

Brought from Markdorf, Germany, the eight copper bubble plated still featured a patented catalyser that removes impurities from the botanicals.

The spirit is distilled for seven hours before being rested for 16 days.

Warner and Edwards said the gin is intense, well rounded and complex, bursting with the flavours of botanicals.

"Aromatic and spicy, with scents of elderflower and lavender, delicate citrus, ginger and cardamom flavours, and with a sweet, moreish aftertaste," Warner and Edwards added.

The latest award adds to the list of accolades including silver medals in the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) and at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2013.

Warner Edwards Harrington Dry Gin is available for sale at a recommended retail price of £33.

The gin can be purchased at retailers including Harvey Nichols, Fortnum & Mason, and independent wine merchants such as Oxford Wine Company, Cambridge Wine Merchants and The Wine Society.
