Vin65, a Canada-based provider of e-Commerce and point of sale (POS) solutions to wineries and wine retailers, has unveiled a new version of its POS system that runs on iPhone.

Built originally for the iPad to allow wineries sell their wines anywhere, the new iPhone version of POS allows wineries to get out of tasting room bar and extend their reach to new consumers.

The addition of iPhone version also makes the task of carrying the POS easier.

Just like the iPad POS, the iPhone POS comes with Vin65’s core customer relationship management (CRM), club, e-Commerce and reporting tools.

The POS allows winery staff to easily process transaction, sign up new club members and provide customer experience in the tasting room and online.

Some of its features and benefits over iPad include increased mobility as winery staff can easily carry the POS system in their pockets, customers need not wait in line to register, and can easily manage different tasks like products, orders, customers, clubs and reports at one place.

Vin65 general manager Brent Johnson said moving from the iPad to the iPhone is a natural step in helping wineries be mobile.

"We wanted to challenge how wineries sell in their tasting room," Johnson added.

"By giving wineries a powerful tool that is simple to use and fits in their pocket, we are trying to remove the focus during a transaction from line-ups and cash registers to fostering relationships with visitors."

The iPhone POS is immediately available for all existing customers for free.
