Texas-based Quentin D Witherspoon Distillery has produced its flagship product – River Rum – at its newly built 4,500ft² distillery in Lewisville, Texas.

River Rum, which will be rolled out on 22 January 2013, is a smooth, white rum with flavorful hints of real vanilla, cherry and gingerbread.

It will be followed by Spiced Rum and a rum aged in small 5gal oak casks to speed up the aging process, which are scheduled to be rolled out in late 2013, reported Star-Telegram.

The company is also forming a joint venture with Allen-based wine distributor Kirk Wilson to produce Quentin D Witherspoon Master Blended Whiskey that is set to be released in March 2013 and Cross Timbers Single Malt Whiskey to be released in a year.

Wilson was quoted by the website as saying that the whisky is being aged in small casks to speed up aging process and will possesses good taste.

Quentin D Witherspoon Distillery owner Quentin Witherspoon told the website that the distillery can currently produce up to 100 cases a day with its single still, but is planning to add two more stills and a new bottling line to produce more than 75,000 cases a year.
