Philip Shaw Wines, an Australia-based producer of red and white wines, plans to invest $700,000 to expand its winery operations to keep up with the growth of its wine profile both nationally and internationally.

The winery has recently received development application (DA) approval from Orange City Council.

Philip Shaw Wines marketing and sales manager Damian Shaw was quoted by centralwesterndaily.com as saying that the expansion plans include increase in wine production, adding extra tank space and offices, and an expansion of the area used to bottle the wine.

"We’ll also increase the number of hours that the cellar door is open, it’ll go from 10 hours a week to being open seven days a week," Shaw added.

The company also plans to upgrade its cottage on the Shiralee Road property into a convention centre for conducting events, including food and wine master classes.

The convention centre will also feature horticulture aspects like grape-growing techniques.

Shaw told the website, "We’ve made a long-term investment in the vineyard and winery already and we’re seeing success not only in Australia but also overseas."

The expansion of the winery is expected to be completed by 2014.

Philip Shaw’s portfolio of wines include NV Sparkling Chardonnay Pinot Noir – Edinburgh, No19 Sauvignon Blanc 2012, No11 Chardonnay 2012, Pink Billy Saignee 2012, No8 Pinot Noir 2011, No17 Merlot Cabernet Franc Cabernet 2011, The Gardener Pinot Gris 2012, The Architect Chardonnay 2012, The Dreamer Viognier 2011, The Conductor Merlot 2010, The Idiot Shiraz 2011 and others.
